Nancy Menefee Wade died Wednesday afternoon, December 14, 2022, while residing in Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton. She was 88-years-old at the time of her death.

Nancy was born June 25, 1934 in Trenton, the daughter of Dr. L.D. and Mrs. Helen Menefee. She was a 1952 graduate of Trenton High School. She attended Christian College, now Columbia College, in Columbia and Northwest Missouri State University.

Nancy married Dr. Leland R. Wade on February 14, 1954. Dr. Wade preceded her in death on February 21, 1989.

Nancy was an avid golfer, bridge player, seamstress, and Kansas City Chiefs fan. She was active in the Trenton community, serving as a member of the Riverside Country Club, Chapter AD, P.E.O., Daughters of the American Revolution, and Wesley United Methodist Church. She was also elected to serve as a school board member for the Trenton R-IX school district. After Nancy relocated to St. Joseph, in 1990, she volunteered as a St. Joseph Diplomat with the city™s Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors include son, Russ Wade and wife, Kim of Trenton; one daughter, Beverly Hooker of Columbia; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Robert Tipton; and mother-in-law, Eunice Sibbit.

Nancy is to be cremated under the direction of Resthaven Mortuary. A Celebration of Life to honor Nancy will be held at a later date. She will be greatly missed by her family and multitude of friends.
