Roberta Kay Bonnett, age 77 of Chula, passed away October 3, 2023, peacefully at her home surrounded by family.

Bobbie was born on June 24, 1945, the daughter of Frank Everett and BonnaDean Elizabeth Shockey Boyd in Humphreys. She grew up in Humphreys and attended school there. She married Charles Dean Bonnett on September 15, 1962 in Galt.

In addition to being a mother, homemaker, and farm wife, she was a CNA, worked at Donaldson’s several years and was a self-employed mail contractor. Bobbie was a great cook and was known for being able to whip up a meal that could feed an army in 30 minutes. She loved having big family dinners and the more the merrier. Bobbie loved to sing and travel. For her, it wasn’t so much about the destination but more about the trip getting there. Bobbie will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Dean Bonnett of the home; children, Vicki Lande (Mark Ryan) of Lucas, IA, Doug Bonnett (Mary Brummer) of Unionville, Greg Bonnett of Chillicothe, Vilynda (Lyn) Hague and husband, Michael of Camdenton and Chuck Bonnett (Lori Croley) of Trenton; sixteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; siblings, Shirley Southers (Jack) of Trenton, Gene Boyd of Humphreys, Ray Boyd of Minneapolis, MN and Kirk Boyd (Aleta) of Humphreys; brother-in-law, Jon Siebenborn of Trenton; sisters-in-law, Barbara Bonnett of Chillicothe and Chris Bonnett of Galt; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
