Mrs. Stewart was born April 12, 1935 in Trenton, the daughter of James Edward and Della Ethel Whitworth. Ruth didn’t know music and played the piano by ear; she felt it was a gift from God and wouldn’t feel right not to share with others. She loved to cook when knowing her family would be home (remembering all the pies). Ruth felt so much love for her family.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene of Trenton.
On May 29, 1951 she was married to John H. Stewart in Trenton by the Rev. J. Parker-Craig at the Nazarene parsonage. He preceded her in death on August 21, 2002.
Her survivors include two daughters, Linda Dailing and husband, Bob of Shawnee, KS and Julie Helton of Trenton; one son, Charles Stewart of Trenton; five grandchildren, Sarah Gene Napier, Jennifer Kover, Angel Dailing, Tim Helton and Jonathan Helton; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
