Murray James Walker, 61, of Blue Springs, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2024 at St. Luke’s East Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Per Murray’s request, cremation with a Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to AT Children’s Project. Murray was born to Thomas William and Mary Lou Dixon Walker on April 8, 1962 in Kirksville. Murray graduated from Trenton High School.

On August 8, 1981, Murray was joined in marriage to the love of his life, Melinda Kay “Mindy” Estes in Trenton.

Murray worked as an electrician and belonged to the IBEW Local 124 Union, and retired in 2022. Murray enjoyed spending time with his family, taking his grandchildren to the park, hunting and shooting, and was a member of Quails Unlimited. He was also a fan of Marvel movies.

Murray is survived by his wife of 42years, Melinda Kay “Mindy” Estes-Walker of Blue Springs; two children, Kyle Thomas Estes-Walker of Blue Springs and Laken Walker-Hafner and her husband, Christopher of Blue Springs; seven grandchildren, Jasmine Estes-Walker, Brooke Estes-Walker, Haylie Estes-Walker, Izzy Estes-Walker, Emmett Walker-Hafner, Wyatt Walker-Hafner and Merritt Walker-Hafner; one great-grandchild, Kylen Jackson; three brothers, Mark Walker and wife, Kathy of Olathe, KS, Michael Walker and wife Mary of St. Joseph and Matthew Walker and wife Rhonda of Trenton; a nephew, Aaron Walker; a niece, Cari Evans; and his beloved pets, Rhodes, 18, and Dude.

Murray was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas William Walker and Mary Lou Dixon Walker; one son, Billal Muslet; brother-in-law, David Estes; brother-in-law, Donnie Estes; and a sister-in-law, Merrie Beth Estes Stotts.
