Dyle Bruce Wilson was born February 12, 1948 in Canton, Illinois. He was the youngest of the
three sons born to John and Mary (Lenzi) Wilson, of Famington, Illinois. He graduated from Farmington
High School in 1966 and went on to The University of Missouri, Rolla, earning a bachelors of science in
mechanical engineering in 1970.
Dyle moved to Trenton, Missouri in 1971 after accepting a position as a mechanical engineer at
Modine Manufacturing Company. He worked there for 44 years, retiring in 2015 and continuing as a
consultant for three more years.
Dyle married Donna Louise Louderback at the Wesley Methodist Church on June 9, 1974. They
recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Dyle™s hobbies included: airplane flying, trap shooting, camping, traveling, and British car
collecting. He was also an avid Formula One fan. Dyle was a member of the Experimental Aircraft
Association (EAA) Chillicothe™s Chapter 944 where he served as president for 14 years. In addition to
being an active member of EAA he also belonged to the Vintage Aircraft Association 16 in Gardner,
Kansas. He attended the annual EAA AirVenture convention for 40 years and volunteered in the Vintage
section at the annual OshKosh, Wisconsin fly-in. With over 36 years of volunteering, he was awarded
volunteer of the year in 2003.
Dyle™s interest in British cars included owning several Jaguars and a Delorian. He was a past
president and vice president of the Heart of America Jaguar Club in Kansas City. He showed his 1966
XKE Jaguar and his 1998 XJ8 Jaguar which won multiple national awards. He also served many years as
the Chief Judge for HOAJC Concours, retiring in 2023.
Donna & Dyle are international travelers (Coast to Coast in the USA, Caribbean Islands, Italy,
Scotland, Mexico, Canada, and England) and are 14 year members of the Prairie Haven Campground in
Kansas.
Locally, Dyle was a board member of the Trenton Trap and Skeet Range and was a member since
its inception. He was also a member of Trenton™s Elk™s Lodge #801.
Dyle is preceded in death by his parents, John & Mary Wilson and his brothers Robert & Roger
Wilson. He is survived by his dear wife, Donna Louderback Wilson as well as his nieces, Annette Marie
Wilson (Philip) Hintz, Kat Wilson (Paulo) Sgiers, great nephews, Conrad & Ian Hintz and great nieces,
Julia & Elizabeth Sgiers.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 11, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at Resthaven Mortuary,
Trenton, Missouri. Burial will be in Martin Cemetery north of Trenton, Missouri.
Family visitation will be held Wednesday from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers donations are being accepted to the EAA Chapter 944 AirVenture fund and
Wesley Methodist Church Building fund and maybe left with the mortuary.
