Mary (Marilyn) C. Foland was born on October 10, 1930, to Robert and Mary Beard. She was raised in Corder, Missouri.

Marilyn was a graduate of Corder High School, Class of 1948. On March 17, 1950, at a St. Patrick™s Day dance, she met the love of her life, Don Foland, on a blind date. Somehow Don didn™t get the message and brought his own date to the dance but left with Marilyn later that night. They were married December 2, 1950. Don and Marilyn were married for 61 years until Don™s death in 2012. They had one daughter, Pam Snead.

Don and Marilyn owned Don™s Hitchen Post, a restaurant and lounge in Plattsburg, from 1975 until they sold to retire in 1995. Marilyn ran the kitchen as a cook, took care of the payroll and did all the ordering of supplies, while Don played golf by day and bartended at night. She later worked for JJ™s Restaurant in Plattsburg from 2001 to 2011 as a cook until it closed. Don volunteered her to help them get started in the restaurant business.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Robert, William, James and Thomas, and sisters Marjorie (Tiny) Wilson and Reva Lawless.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Roger Snead of Maryville, Missouri; three grandsons, Ben and Marie, Brian and Brooke, and Kevin and Sydney; two great grand daughters, Athena and Scarlett; two brothers-in-law, Neal Foland and Gary (Diane) Foland; one sister-in-law, Karen Glidewell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
