November 20, 1930 – January 13, 2025 (age 94)

Raymond Scott, a 94-year-old Spickard, MO resident, passed away at 11:15 pm, Monday, January 13,

2025, at his residence where he was under hospice care.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Friday, January 17, 2025, at the First Assembly of God

Church in Trenton. A visitation will be from 1:00 until service time. Burial will follow in Resthaven

Memorial Gardens of Trenton.

Raymond Laverne Scott was born November 20, 1930 in Harrison County, MO to Gordon B. and Carrie

M. (Smith) Scott. He was a 1949 Trenton High School graduate and on May 28, 1950, he was united in

marriage to Naomi E. Barnett in Trenton. Raymond joined the Air Force in 1950 during the Korean War.

He was first stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base and then deployed to Beaver Lodge, Alberta, Canada.

Upon discharge, Raymond began his 38-year career with the Maintenance Dept. of Trenton Foods,

where he was known as 'Scotty'. Raymond & Naomi loved to travel the United States on their

motorcycle & motorhome with friends & family, ultimately visiting all 48 contiguous states. Upon

retirement, Raymond worked from his machine shop near his home. He especially enjoyed making

repairs to equipment owned by his Amish friends. Raymond lived a Christ-first life and was a long-time

member of First Assembly of God Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher and deacon for

many years. His favorite time each week was Thursday afternoon coffee with 'The Wise Guys'.

Surviving relatives include: sons Alan Scott (Diana) of Kearney and Stan Scott (Robyn) of Trenton;

grandchildren Stephanie Wachob (John), Timothy Scott (Laura), Mickey Scott (Cricket), Casey Scott

(Samantha) and Dr. Michael Scott (Rebecca); step-grandchildren Ethan Boren (Sarah) and Erin Boren;

great-grandchildren Eli Wachob, Moxie, Genevieve, Roslyn, Audrey & Andy Scott, JM & Jordan Speer;

and step-great-grandchildren Violet & Rose Boren. Raymond was also survived by sister Roberta Allen

of Trenton, brother Curtis Scott (Ruth), sisters-in-law Betty Scott and Margaret Ann Barnett, as well as

many nieces & nephews.

Raymond was preceded in death by Naomi, his wife of 71 years, his parents, a sister Carol Dykes and a

brother Lawrence Scott.

Memorial donations are suggested to the First Assembly of God Royal Rangers and may be left with or

mailed to the Slater Neal Funeral Home of Trenton.
