Larry Eugene Meservey was born March 3, 1937 in Chula, MO to Elden and Helen Louise (Eccles) Meservey. On June 8, 1957 he was united in marriage to Ramona Gayle Ritko in Trenton. Larry received a bachelor??™s degree in Agriculture from the University of Missouri Columbia in 1959. He served on the Pleasant View R-6 school board as well as the Peoples Co-op and Public Water District boards.

Larry spent his entire adult life involved in farming first with his father, Elden and brother Dwaine and later with his sons. The farming operation started in partnership with J. C. Penney and the farm was eventually purchased from him.

He had a love for International Harvester equipment and was a member of the International Harvester Collectors??™ Club. Larry was one of the 6 original directors when Missouri formed the first state chapter in 1992. He served three terms as Director and also as Treasurer and Membership Secretary. He was elected to the National Board in 1994 and served as Secretary before being elected National President in 1998 and serving until 2001. He served 2 more terms as director and elected Treasurer for the 2006 year. He served a total of 12 years on the National Board. During this time, he visited the archives at the University of Wisconsin and took in all the IH history around Benham, Kentucky more than once. Needless to say, he and Ramona attended most Red Power Roundups, Winter Conventions, and National Auctions over the years. The highlight of all those directors??™ meetings and events attended is the multitude of IH friends from all across the United States.
